Becca and I go back to university—introduced through a mutual friend and bonded over too many closing shifts at the same retail store. Then life did what it does, I moved away, and we drifted. Years later, I moved back to Ottawa. I had made a new friend and—turns out—she and Becca were close. That little twist brought us back into each other’s lives, this time with families in tow.
From the beginning, our sessions have been less about “taking photos” and more about hanging out and catching up on life. I’ve photographed them as a family of three and now as a family of four—through maternity, newborn, and soon a first birthday. In between, we’ve had a lot of conversations about the reality of raising toddlers, and I’ve watched her somehow balance it all: motherhood, a 9–5, and building an incredible passion-turned-business that supports other moms in the most real and needed ways.
This gallery is just a glimpse of that season—chaotic, full and very them.
